#37 - The phonetic alphabet

Another basic topic to be learned in BCT is the phonetic alphabet. It is important that your fellow soldiers are able to understand what you are saying during phone and radio communications. There are several versions of the phonetic alphabet, but this is the military's preferred way of pronouncing letters and numbers.

Good Morning Jenifer,
I was blog searching when I came upon yours. I was in the Reserves in the early '70's and have enjoyed reading a few of your posts. My favorite reading when I had time during my training was Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead as well, and I've re-read them since. I actually saw Ayn Rand speak at the Ford Hall Forum in Boston in 1966 while a high school student. It was exciting. Thanks for the enjoyable reading.
